What is Sole Survivor Online?
Command & Conquer: Sole Survivor Online is Westwoods first major online game release taking advantage of C&C's addictive multiplayer mode but twisting it into something a bit different then C&C's normal online features. In Sole Survivor you control one unit which you choose from any of the units from Tiberian Dawn (well except the MCV, Harvestor etc) additionally you can choose the dinosaurs from Covert Operations you can also choose those pesky Tiberium mutated lifeforms called Viceroids. This one unit is your only unit you must try and keep it alive well depending on what style game your playing but its best to try and survive for as long as possible. You must go around the map and collect crates and upgrade your unit into something of mass distruction something that can destroy your enemys with ease but it ain't that simple. There is a chance that your crate may be trapped such as if you get alot of upgrades your Ion Danger levels will go up which is bad because the next brown crate you get could zap you with GDI's Orbital Ion Cannon. Or if your unlucky and pick up a green crate at full health by accident or on purpose then you will be nuked out of existance and if timed correctly then some of your enemys as well. There are different channels or game types such as the Wacky channel where you can play a normal Free For All (FFA) or a Normal Capture the Flag (CTF) game but all the crates are orange crates this does make things quite Wacky indeed. There are some special channels which WW turn on and off sometimes things like Dinos Only or Recon Bike Bash which can make things quite different and quite fun. The main 2 game types are FFA and CTF which are just normal they have all the different crates in the game there is no limit on what units you can choose etc. Sole Survivor has some interesting game play types but can get quite repadative sometimes but it is an interesting concept having one unit on a battlefield with many other units each one controlled by a single human player.
