--- Power Plants ---

Energy is everything in warfare. In ancient China, Sun Tzu wrote of the importance of momentum in winning battles, and today an armored column carries such crushing force as to overwhelm even the mightiest defenses. However, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Moblizing a force of tanks requires considerable energy, and in the world of Tiberian Dawn, where military machines are often manufactured directly on the battlefield, that power needs to be produced right on the front lines.

For this purpose, engineers from both GDI and Nod have designed these:

For the first time in history, frontline military bases are being powered by low-yield fission power plants. Needless to say, many were skeptical of this concept, claiming it was only a matter of time before another Chernobyl incident. To silence the critics and protect personnel, multiple failsafes were integrated to prevent a meltdown when the power plants inevitably came under enemy fire. Redundant control systems keep the reactor from going critical when damaged, and though these processes reduce the amount of power being produced by the plant, a reduction in power is certainly better than the alternative.

Despite the reliability and energy output of these structures, the power requirements of military bases across the globe—especially those equipped with the latest communications and base defenses—are becoming too much to handle for these simple reactors. Alternatives are reportedly being investigated by both GDI and Nod as their forces continue to grow.

The Power Plant was modeled by Ric and textured by Soviet Deso, and as I need hardly state, both have done an exquisite job.
