The shovel I used for making the effects was totally rusty and didn't have a handle, but it was still enough to produce hitting sounds!
Also, I'm about get a set of 75W 5.1 Surround speakers to test how C4 Commando's sounds are like in surround. They have also a headphone jack unlike my current set of 13W 2.1 soap boxes.
I'm preparing some of the models the team has made earlier ready to be textured and then put in game. The mission plot lines are starting to get a shape.
The beta of new Source SDK is now available. To get Steam to download it you need to start Steam with following parameter: -beta sdk .
What is supposed to be in the new SDK:
*HDR support
*Volumetric texture support (real time moving clouds in the sky, anyone?)
*Day of Defeat map support
*Real time lighting preview in Hammer
*Fixed Vconfig.exe (used to rename and delete mod configs)
*Updated source code with bug fixes
