I love math class, so boring :D, I figured out why the sub sometimes surfaces on land. if u ever use world builder, u know of a default water that shows up, u can delete it. Thats the problem!

I don't want to be bad or anything, but, to be honest, from the angle you took the render in... that thing looks... well... stupid... But that could just be from the shape at that specific angle, I dunno...
