This is a screen capture from an episode of Stargate SG-1 titled Cold Lazarus. Long story short, that crystal there is an intelligent sentient lifeform. In Mike Verdu's November 17 blog "A Little About Tiberium" he wrote this about Tiberium:
"Is it a creature of some kind? Maybe some form of consciousness resides in the crystal lattices, a quantum crystalline brain that grows ever smarter as it grows and grows."
Sounds similar doesn't it?
