If you have a link to a tutorial for UT modeling in max....feel free to share it with the community :)

Here's a few I have found so far.

Sgt May, would you by any chance have any animation tutorials, because just donít get this whole animation using bones and Inverse Kinetics.

I'll see what I can find for you.......maybe I could create a tut on it....it might be quicker.

And it's inverse kinematics.......you can create IK bone chains that are verry easy to animate in gmax.

If you want an example of an inverse kinematic bone chain you could download the mammoth mark 2 model I uploaded in the renegade models section.

I used IK bone chains for animating the legs.

I'm pretty sure that max can use the bone chains too........I'll take a look see in max4 and see if they had implimented them in 4.0

if I still can use them I will show you in max4......if not I guess I will have to show it in gmax.

I'll post a new thread tomorrow to explain how to create an IK skeleton.

Download that mammoth and check out the bone structure and how you can't move the bone outside of the joint constraints.....and how each bone effects the bones below it in the chain.

IK chains make custom character animation a breeze compared to primitive style box animation bones.

that sounds wonderful, I can't wait! I guess I'll download the mmk2 now. I downloaded you're banshee renegade model, a while back, for use in reverse engineering it to learn more about modeling/skinning but its not a very good example seeing it has no IK bone chains to study.
