Epic Units

Do you think Tiberian Sun Rising should have some sort of Epic/Uber unit? *technically GDI already has one the Mammoth Mk2*. As for Nod it could very well be the Cyborg Commando or a new unit possibly. If TSR were to really do some sort of Epic Unit for both sides thou I imagine it would something way more hardcore then even the Mammoth Mk2 on GDI's side of things and Nod ... I cant think of anything heavy that would suit Nod as its just not their style *despite C&C3/KW* I refuse to give Nod a super heavy unit Nod is light armor. Perhaps some sort of Uber Subterrain unit or something that acts as a Land based Banshee Carrier... or could be something BIG using Scrin technology from the Tacitus.
Im just curious on what ppl think of Epic units, are they way unbalanced and dumb? Or do they add an interesting/cool edge? You decide.
Thankyou

The only design that ever seemed appropriate to me is the early Avatar, it is pretty much TS era technology (though you´d probably have to use the somewhat overused "Nod stole GDI walker tech and made their own" excuse) and has this cool atmosphere of a predatory warden that towers above his inferiors. Should feature less armor, better speed and range than the MKII and be able to attack while moving due to the torso and weapon systems not being fixed.
I don´t really like the way the EUs are handled in KW, especially the MARV. Being overly slow but ridiculously armored and armed they seem more like a reincarnation of shoot´em up bosses instead of true additions to strategy. The production via its own high tech warfactory also makes it seem a little as if it was initially planned as T4 but found too powerful for mass producing.
I much more prefer an approach that handles EUs not as the big fat jack-of-all-trades but more as a tactical support unit, meaning reasonable armor (2x - 3x of a standard combat unit at max) but powerful, low ROF attacks with above average range that allow to strategically take out enemy key units. Production should further set them apart from regular units, combining the mothership approach of calling in the unit with the production at the repair pad you had planned earlier seems adequate to me.
