The Buzz-Saw Droid is still based off the Reaper style CABAL units and has a very Morbid anti-human CABAL feel to it so it stays

High praise from Nyerguds
ooo Im tingly

They shoulda used the better renders like that for all the Red Alert stuff in RA Retaliation it would of at least been more different from the PC version.

We'll have to ask Petroglyth to be sure I cant remember where I got this image
24 October 2007 - 06:26 AM
This particular screenshot is actually from MobyGames being played by MAT
24 October 2007 - 06:25 AM
Well I edited it to say Mind Controlled Giant Squids then lol, and you are right.
Like Pirates of the Carabian hehe the Kraken *or whatever its called*

Actually I scanned this at 600 DPI so I scanned it at such high resolution you can see the pixels like that, the image is rather small in the Firestorm manual.
The shrunk version in the corner is the largest I could resize the image to without it pixelising. I left the fullsize pixelated image for those who wanted to look very closely

Iv played Counterstrike though I dont think I ever finished every Counterstrike, Aftermath or Covert Ops missions cept for Ants and Dinos which I finished all of. I should go back and win all of those missions i guess, there fun and very challenging particulary Covert Ops.
Pre-release screenshots are any screenshots from Westwood, EA prior to release or even after, and screenshots from review/preview websites., and untrue Nverguds SOME of the TFD screenshots are just rebadged Pre-release screenshots while otherwise are from the final version and are new screenshots taken by EA *I suspect*. Post-Release screenshots are taken by us or other fans.
The point is pre-release shots are made for the Press so they are usually far better screenshots or faked or setup in someway to show off a particular feature.
Perhaps we may need to reorganise them into Pre-Release (Alpha, Beta screens), Promotional Screens (press), Post-Release (fan)
What you think?

AIIIIIE! PODLESS TIBERIUM!
24 October 2007 - 03:54 AM
This is Paradox Equasion, a mission where all of your units have been slightly... warped
24 October 2007 - 03:52 AM
lol, you seem very unsure about this. Go and play Counterstrike already.
Also, why the heck are the TFD site screenshots filed under "pre-release"? They were made quite a long time AFTER the release of Counterstrike.

You have to apply a softening effect to scanned images before resiwing them to prevent that pixelizing effect.
24 October 2007 - 02:42 AM
Oh come on, giant squids date back to pirate ghost stories.. they're totally classic
24 October 2007 - 02:22 AM
Hmm... never tried going that way. I always send em to the east side and then north. Looks like you went through the walls at the west side.

The original is taken from a magazine scan about Red Alert, but this Mammoth tank is definitely the C&C1 version, and not the RA1 one.
I'll upload the scan in the RA1 section ASAP
24 October 2007 - 01:24 AM
Same remark I made for the Recon bike... this is really taken from the FMV to put in the magazine, so the quality has only decreased.
24 October 2007 - 01:23 AM
Sorry to disappoint you there, but this is really taken from the FMV to put in the magazine. This means that the original image from the FMV is still higher quality than this printed-and-then-scanned version
24 October 2007 - 01:21 AM
wow. This is about the best render of the Light Tank I've ever seen
A pity the back is missing though.
24 October 2007 - 01:21 AM
shows another high quality image of the same model though
I could provide some shots of the SS intro vid, which features the same Humvee.
24 October 2007 - 01:16 AM
Actually, it's the other way around... the commander (=the player himself) is supposed to be in the mobile headquarters (hence the name).
If the commander is dead, he obviously loses, but to actually make the player lose the MP game, all of his stuff has to be gone, so that's why everything blows up.
The same thing happens in normal Capture The Flag games once you captured the enemy flag and returned to your base with it.
24 October 2007 - 01:13 AM
Yeah I just fixed the description, its Interlaced video in 95 versions of C&C and RA hence the lines
24 October 2007 - 01:13 AM
Eh, this is a banner made by SgtLny from FMV shots... shouldn't this be in the fanart section?
24 October 2007 - 12:42 AM
Actually, this was made as build icon for The First Tiberium War, so the render I was trying to imitate is
the one used on the C&C95 build icon
. But I must admit it looks slightly more like that strategy guide render.

That looks fantastic on that background
